FAQ

1. My child needs therapy (Speech, Occupational, or Physical)...now what?
There are multiple therapy settings available for you to choose from.  Please find them detailed in the chart provided.  Although you and your health care provider will determine which is best suited for your child’s needs,  please feel free to contact us if you have any questions regarding which setting would be best for your child.

2. How do I know my child has the right therapist.

The biggest mistake is believing that rapport is the most important factor in choosing a therapist.  Just because the child has good rapport with the therapist does not mean the therapist is the right fit.  The therapist’s
qualifications are the most important factor. Period.  A better-trained therapist for your child’s needs will result in better treatment and achieving goals faster.

3. What is NDT?

It is an advanced training certification with a focus on handling techniques that help improve postural control and movement.  It benefits those with with developmental delays mainly due to neurological impairments, and is applied to patients from 0-adult.  Many of our therapists are NDT trained and certified.

4. What is the environment like?
Depending on your child’s needs treatments are done either in a treatment room,  or in the therapy gym or both.   Therapist are usually working with other children simultaneously.  The feeling in our gym is family-oriented, centered around our patients needs from session to session.

5. Can my child receive school therapy as well as outpatient services?

YES, your child may receive both.  Because these therapies focus on different goals and are based on different operating models (educational vs. medical) your child is eligible for both, and it is often a good idea to have both, depending on your child’s needs.

6. Can my child receive ECI as well as outpatient services?
YES.  as long as they are billed to Medicaid or your insurance under different codes.
